Hampshire progressed to the the One-Day Cup quarter-finals after rain forced their match with Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge to be abandoned.

The hosts were set for a big total as openers Riki Wessels (81) and Alex Hales (58) put on 124 in 20.3 overs.

Dan Christian then smashed five sixes and four fours in his 72 from 48 balls.

But with Nottinghamshire on 256-3, the rain started and never relented as each side had to settle for a point, with Notts through as Group B winners.

Hampshire finish third after Kent and Lancashire's games were also washed out.

The quarter-final line-up will see Notts play Durham at Trent Bridge on Tuesday, 25 August, at 14:00 BST.

Hampshire will face Gloucestershire at Bristol on Wednesday, 26 August, at 10:30 BST.
