Surrey batsman Arun Harinath has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

The 28-year-old, who joined Surrey at Under-9 level, will remain at The Oval until the end of the 2017 season.

The left-hander has scored 477 runs at an average of 53 in five Championship appearances this season, and hit two centuries in a defeat by Glamorgan.

"I'm pleased we have secured Arun after some impressive performances in the Championship this season," director of cricket Alec Stewart said.
