Nottinghamshire were left frustrated by the weather after forcing Warwickshire to follow-on at Trent Bridge.
Having resumed on 100-4, Warwickshire were dismissed for 260 in their first innings, despite 71 from Keith Barker.
Fast bowler Jake Ball (3-35) was Notts' stand-out bowler, while medium pacer Brett Hutton picked up 3-73.
Second time around, Warwickshire had reached 42-0, still 318 in arrears, before rain wiped out the final 43 overs from the third day's play.

After the loss of overnight pair Tim Ambrose (46) and Laurie Evans (41), Barker was eventually ninth out.
He had reached his 50 soon after lunch from only 53 deliveries, with seven fours and a pulled six from the bowling of Hutton.
He then hit a further maximum, lifting Samit Patel over the ropes at long off, before reverse sweeping the next delivery straight into the waiting hands of Steven Mullaney.
William Porterfield (23 not out) and Ian Westwood (18 not out) made steady progress in the 12 overs that were possible before the conditions worsened, with Warwickshire ending the day still 298 runs behind.
Nottinghamshire fast bowler Harry Gurney told BBC Sport:
"The first half of the day went pretty much how we'd wanted it to go. We wanted to take early wickets, which we managed to do and then to bowl them out on a fairly docile pitch is a pretty good effort.
"Had the weather not come in we could be stood here in a very strong position but, as it is, we're in a pretty good position going into day four."
"Certainly we'd have taken this at the start of the game and hopefully we'll get enough cricket in on the last day to try and force a result."
Warwickshire all-rounder Keith Barker told BBC Sport:
"It wasn't too bad for myself personally but for the team we would rather have done a bit better. The ball did more today for them than it had for us but the sun wasn't out as much.
"It just nipped around a bit quicker for them but we're still in the game in terms of saving it, so it's back to basics and we go from there.
"We managed to save ourselves a little bit by getting a couple of extra bonus points with the bat and we'll be looking to make it as tough as we can for the Notts bowlers."
