Hampshire coach Dale Benkenstein hopes his side can avoid the "real shambles" they experienced at last year's T20 Blast Finals Day at Edgbaston.

Hampshire make their sixth successive T20 Finals Day appearance on Saturday when they play Lancashire Lightning.

Benkenstein believes they will be better prepared for the distractions.

"There's four teams, only two changing rooms. You have to fight your way through the crowds when you play the second game," he told BBC South Today.

"The last Finals Day I found a real shambles. You can't leave your bags or any equipment in the changing rooms overnight.

"There's all those little things that we know about now, which I think do end up taking quite a bit of energy from you.

Chasing a landmark title
Should Hampshire win the T20 Blast title at Edgbaston, they will join Leicestershire with a record three domestic T20 titles in England.

"But, it's about trying to cut those out, taking the extra worries away and making sure we're focused on the game."

Hampshire face Lancashire in a repeat of last year's semi-final, which they lost by 41 runs. They will also look to win a T20 semi-final tie for the first time in four attempts at Edgbaston.

"Lancashire have got one of the best one-day players in the world in James Faulkner, so it's not going to be easy," Benkenstein added.

"That's why if we do win, it will make it so much sweeter."
