Sussex batsman Matt Machan has signed a new three-year contract, which will run until the end of the 2018 season.
The 24-year-old Scotland player scored 955 Championship runs at an average of 39.79 this summer.
"Matt had a very good year and learnt his lessons from a hard 2014 season," Sussex manager Mark Robinson said.
"He's got everything in place to become a very dangerous player. He's the type of character who will carry us forward in the future."
Brighton-born Machan scored three first-class centuries in 2015, making the highest score of his career when he hit 192 against Somerset in July.
The left-hander also scored 198 runs in the T20 Blast and 179 runs in the One-Day Cup.
