Alex Hughes hit a career-best 140 before Derbyshire's lower order damaged Gloucestershire's victory hopes.

Derbyshire slipped to 61-4 before lunch on day three but were all out for 360.

Neil Broom (42) and Matt Critchley (32) offered some support to Hughes, who hit 20 fours and a six before falling lbw.

Harvey Hosein (52 not out) and Tom Milnes, whose 56 was his career-best, added 82 for the eighth wicket to leave Gloucestershire a target of 272 to win, with the visitors 10-0 at stumps.
