Some serious betting pie style betting going on... Because of him England lost the world cup and yet he is going for this sort of money.. something fishy.
Wayne Shaw, - give him his job back - slap on wrist and move on
Unbelievable - is it April already !!!
Anyone who pays £1.7 mill for Stokes must have money to burn.Bring the spinners on and he will get outThe good batsman will destroy his bowlingWhat a joke!Having said all that i would take the money aswell
Where is the BBC article on Stokes, Woakes and Butler who will miss Englands odis vs Ireland....Morgan was absolutely blasted for that previously... Not easy him being an outside! Lets see how ppl reaction to players missing England games or different rules apply to the above 3
Thanks Ed 168 and Teekay 208! It takes time to accept the facts and that Indians are kicking ass!! MinardiCosworth will continue to live in false snobbish delusion and feel greatness by calling people idiot, while proving who actually is one :-)Ed, the problem is distribution of wealth and hence some can afford to buy cricketers for £1.7m, while some starve!
K. Pietersen wouldn't really trouble a trained psychoanalyst for long would he?Can't believe that nobody wanted Bairstow...they clearly don't check the averages. I don't begrudge a professional sportsman making money from their talents...I just hope that Stokes doesn't find that the money comes at a price of personal integrity...now just bowl that last ball as a leg stump full toss will you?
Reply to # 206. Posted by MinardiCosworthIndia's economy surpassed that of UK in December 2016. It is advisable to get enlightened enough before making loose comments.Making rushed statement without knowledge makes anyone an idiot too. @205 JDHCOYSI think everyone else has gone to bed !! Seems to be only me and you left on this HYS. (Unless we've bored them to death).Your last two sentences are spot on, with the main references being, unplayable and decent.Good batsman, to huge an ego.Anyway, off to see my second love now, Derby County FC.Don't get on these HYS very often, enjoyed our banter. Regards.
Yes it DOES receive UK aid IndianBrit. You haven't set anything straight. Don't worry though, I'm much smarter than you and will set the record straight for you:India is not a rising power like China. It is nowhere near close to having an economy the size of the United Kingdom this side of the 2050.Even if it didn't still receive aid, his statement was still correct, idiot.
204. Hughmungus - Fair enough. To say some one is a great or just good is for his peers to decide not me, if you liked to watch him and he made kids want to follow him into the game then that is all good for me. I think any opposition seeing his name being dropped off the team sheet would be rubbing their hands. On his day he was unplayable. He has a pretty decent record all the same.
@202 JDHCOYS.At last something we agree on.I do not like the word hate!! Let's use dislike instead. In his day KP was a cracking batsman, who put bums on seats. IMO, for what it's worth, is that he could have become an all time great, but through whatever reason, through it away. Again, IMO he will only go down in history as a good batsman.Don't need his constant tweeting though
@201 -Hughmungus - That's better! However I am an England supporter and have been since the mid to late 70's. I love test cricket it is the ultimate. However I am not so naïve to think that this could be the beginning of the end if it doesn't smarten up and move with the times. You're thinking does not help, if you put prejudice aside you will KP's comment makes sense. Perfectly valid statement
Trouble is with people is they just cannot move on. KP will always be a big headed traitor or troublemaker to some. But there's always more than one side to every story, some would rather look at the one that suits their prejudice/agenda. Haters gotta hate! I prefer to remember him as one of the most exciting batsmen I have ever seen but I don't want him back in the team because it's too late.
@199 JDHCOYS.Sorry, some people (like yourself) may be interested in KP's opinion. Many are not, especially England supporters, who this man has constantly let down. With reference to your comment regarding the decline in test cricket, by which I assume you are referring to attendances. This may be the case in India, possibly Sri Lanka and, due to problems, Pakistan. Certainly not England.
