@, 301, ferafestiva,With all Due Respect, I think You are Wrong!, We (England/GB/UK) are a Successful Sporting Nation!, If You want a list of Achievements I will list them!, There seems to be opposite end of the Scale Presumptions made regularly by naive people 1-We are brilliant & will win this! this statement should never be made!, 2-We are rubbish & never Win anything!, thisisequallywrong!.
Two things: 1) Both teams played on the same wicket. Yes wickets do change over the course of a match but that's always the case, that's where the tactical choice of batting/bowling first comes in. 2) England are not a world class team. It's that simple; we just haven't got what it takes to get there when it really matters. Sadly many of our other sporting teams are the same.

293.Michael182 I didn't realise Pakistan played their last game on that wicket....You would of though the team that came top of a group would of keep ground advantage not the other way around.____There's another thing you need to realise. Second semi was played where the final will take place. No one could have predicted who will benefit from the tournament schedule.
@267 whatWether I'm making a point about immigration or not I'm entitled to my opinion without being called a fool by someone who I will defend their right to an opinion. And if all those supporters were born here why aren't they supporting England after all England/UK has given them everything they've got.
No one seems to have questioned Morgan's captaincy, which appeared to be predictable and captaincy by the book. Bowl opening bowlers 5 overs each, then 2 more seamers. He's a good captain when winning but seem to be able to think outside the norm
@, 284, mightydeceaser,@, 288, Moggs,Why are You 2 both so bitter & Anti-English?By the way Moggs, The Aussies are Gold Medallists at Whinging & Moaning when they lose!,mightydeceaser- Why so obsessed with Iceland?, Right let's get back to the Cricket!, Firstly Congratulations to Pakistan as they thrashed England & Good luck to them in the Final!.
England have improved. They can now post a 300+ score on a 300+ wicket. This has historically been a failing. England have a little way to go. This was a tough pitch, but by rotating the strike, punishing the bad balls etc, and aiming for 250, they would probably have done a lot better and got near 300. Biggest fault seems to be an inability to think on their feet out in the middle.
Like with most tournaments which England take part in, before they have played, they are clear favourites, PLEASE. Pakistan made England make mistakes with their bowling and batting, so the much better team won. The fact is England are not that good, does not matter how many 300+ innings have been scored. In the grand scheme of things, England CHOKED.
I didn't realise Pakistan played their last game on that wicket.I understand the rule of no new wickets for the semi final to avoid doctoring but to play on the same wicket within the couple of days was a huge advantage, especially as we came from a fast and bouncy track. You would of though the team that came top of a group would of keep ground advantage not the other way around.
@ 289. Posted by Jan Bowkett on 2 hours agoIn the overall scheme of things - it's a game of cricket, not life or death and there are far worse things to worry aboutHow dare the Cricket players, coaches and fans worry about cricket.Especially on a sport column.I am sick of reading about a cricket match in a BBC sports thread.
England bottle it. Let's not pretend otherwise.
