Wow, that Australia squad is terrible! It's going to take a truly heroic effort from Smith, Warner and the bowlers for them to get anything out of this series. 4-1 England, I reckon.
All the Aussies posting on here, this is your LEGENDS view of your team,Shane Warne"England are in a better situation going into the first Test than Australia"Stuart MacGill "morons masquerading as mentors"Jim Maxwell, described them as "unhinged" Brett Geeves said the selection of Marsh, the son of former Australia batsman, coach and selector Geoff, "stinks to high heavenHa,ha
On an unrelated ashes topic, I read that rohit Sharma reckons it's not long before a batsman scores a triple century in an ODI. A) yawn B) who cares? C) I'd much rather watch test match cricket. Enough said
Not many people actually saw it
This should be live and free on the BBC. Boycott BT Sport
This looks the weakest Australia squad since the early 1980’s. England should be confident.
92. alwaysredwhy do the bbc mention that stoneman has an Australian wife? what difference doe this make?.....Who knows. Perhaps they are saying he is on top of Australia on and off the field.
Why don't England just do away with the no 3 spot entirety? Apart from a couple of temporary exceptions (trott) its been vacant for at least 10 years. Play Woakes there - if he only gets 20 or something... so what not much less than what Vince might score.. Hes in the team for his bowling. He'll give root a little respite and see the new ball off.
@91 bigdogdownundernext Thursday at lunch England 5/42...... So England will take five wickets for forty two runs. You don't have much faith in Aussies, they are not that rubbish and don't forget they are playing at home.
me @94England now 59 ahead on first innings and haven't even lost a wicket yet.Pleasant memories, eh, "big dog"? Which is your favourite moment?
This series is going to be a lot closer than people think. Everyone has harped on about England's fragile batting line up but Australia's is just as fragile. With the exception of Warner and Smith, the rest look very suspect. And England probably have the strongest middle to lower order batting line up in the world right now. I have a feeling Woakes and Overton will shine during the series.
I'm watching Day 1 of the Melbourne Test in 2010 on DVD. Australia now 77-7. That Eng squad wasn't highly fancied beforehand, or even after the first 4 days of the Gabba Test. But we all now what happened then...All the noise is coming from Aus. If Eng can sit on the edge of the storm, get everyone settled in their roles for the first Test, they can start well. In Aus that's all you need.
this current Australian team is no better than the team in the 2015 ashes, and we beat them then so why can't we beat them this time. 5-0 England I'm saying
why do the bbc mention that stoneman has an Australian wife? what difference doe this make?
Haha turmoil in the Aussie camp??? We’ll see next Thursday at lunch England 5/42 Starc, Cummins & Hazelwood have ripped through the Poms dodgey top order.
