Did you know Australia are all half English except Khawaja who is half Pakistani.
Take Smith out of the Aussie team and I fancy England to turn them over. We just need Cook and Root to get some runs.
The pundits view at the end of Day 1 was that England were in a commanding position and now line up to heap on the ridicule as their previous optimism proved to be completely unfounded.Perhaps Theresa May should open the batting - nobody can seem to get her out.
9.58 'England coach' Paul Farbrace says 'we've done pretty well today'. 10.06 England 'assistant coach' Paul Farbrace quoted again. I am not surprised he was demoted within 8 minutes for a comment so bewilderingly out of reality it would compare to the French saying 'We had a pretty good day' at Agincourt....
We’re only 140 odd behind what’s all the fuss about!
Englands bowling is SHOCKINGTime to come homeWe are being humiliated
@82 Nobody is saying they are not trying, but it's not enough. The bowlers are all Glenn McGrath pace with no discipline. When Steve Smith came off the field he said Malan was the best of the spinners. What does that tell you.I've watched most of the day and there were some very unpredictable balls coming off cracks etc. It was a very lackluster bowling display and that's being kind
I hope Joe Root is paying attention. This is what world class batting looks like. I know some of you say Smith is a flat-track bully, but that is beside the point. The lesson that Root needs to learn from him is that once you are in, you do not get yourself out. 60s and 70s don't win many matches.
What a miserable moaning Minnie is Michael Vaughan - his voice is a turn off before he utters anything as if he was wonderful achiever, which he wasn’t. Couldn’t hold a candle to Geoffrey who still gives the best analytical commentaries.
England are really paying for yesterday's gutless capitulation once Malan was out. It's a bit rough to accuse international sportsmen of not trying, and I'm sure they think they are, but they don't look like it, do they?
It's all happening here, it's like us against some schoolboys with a tennis ball. Kevin Pieterson has lost it and is now just barracking for Mitch Marsh to get a double
