I would love to have heard the match to review for myself but the BBC has not made it available on the BBC Radio Player.
#52 here again with a final thought. In ano ODI loose 3/4 early wickets and u can rebuild. Lose 3 wkts at T20 and 8 times outta 10 that's it. Get hammered or go home
How much longer is this tour to Australia going on? Please save us from this endless stream of rubbish cricket.
All this stuff about Billings etc being a better keeper than Bairstow only shows that those saying it are stuck in the past and don't give me the Alex Stuart quote from over a year ago before it was apparent just how much work he'd done and how he had improved. He also said that if JB improved his keeping like he had his batting he'd be a very good test keeper. Most pundits now think he is.
I really cant see the point in all these meaningless 1 day games..I love all types cricket but some of this 1 day stuff is tedious..
103. In five Ashes Test matches away in Australia, he made six scores over 50. Rubbish for him, and yet good for very many others?.Then he moved onto ODI, again away in Australia, and at one point he was averaging 137 and nobody could get him out.You are just wumming? Right?
I much prefer proper cricket.Let's be honest, T20 is all down to who bashes best on any given day.Yesterday it was Maxwell. Saturday, it could be Hales or Warner. As for Billings. If he isn't in as a keeper, he shouldn't be in.
#104 aliborI agree that Bairstow is the best bat but if you think he is a better keeper than Billings you have neither kept at a decent standard yourself or spoken with those who have. Billings clearly has the edge both up at the stumps and back - but I suspect we can agree that none of the 3 are in the same class as Foakes as a keeper.
92Rubbish - Bairstow is far better wicket keeper than Buttler or Billings and is better batsman in all forms of cricket. You judge keeper by his quality when standing up to slow/medium paced bowlers, his tidiness generally and agility. On all of these counts, Bairstow is by far the best - and Buttler is easily worst. The team is inferior without Root & Bairstow and Morgan is very big liability.
where is Joe Root? why is he sitting out? why was he not bought in the IPL?A batsman that can only play on English pitches...
It seems to me that too much international cricket is being played. How many players have been available to play all 3 formats? Need a squad of 30+ to play all 3. How many county players are eligible to play for England? How many are under 32? The eligible pool is diminished and how many of these players are good enough?
