Lots of empty seats !
So who cares who is from what place it's the icc who make the rules, Morgan, Jordan, Roy and even the man who is going to be our saviour of English cricket (the Press & TV Woakes say) Stokes wasn't born in UK. So we have to live with it they are no breaking any icc rules nor was N.Zelander Rutherford breaking any rules, just mooooooove on.
This would be my England T20 team1. Willey 2. Moeen 3. J.Root 4. Buttler (cap) 5. Bairstow (wk) 6. Plunkett 8. Jordan 9.Tom Curran 10.Rashid 11.Wood - 12th Man Woakes 13th J.Roy
We were supposed to be geared and hyped up for the rounders games after the Test series debacal, what excuses have we still got in the locker? I would think that both India & Pakistan can't wait to come over here. "Too much cricket" will be the cry, so don't play. Oh sorry I forgot there's lots of £££££££££££££££s
NZ batted fielded and bowled better than England. Hales, Roy and Butler are capable of knocking, at times, 20+ off an over - it's strange therefore they panic after a couple of singles and a dot ball? I suppose Woakes, Stokes, Ali and Root are missing non felt more than Root who can rotate the strike and abhors 'dot balls'. One positive is the consistent form of Malan. Well played Kiwis.
I can't believe how a game of cricket can end up in an argument as to who was born where. Seems to be the same in any sport. Time to move on.
@ 153 knows best Rutherford was born in NZ He was educated in NZ at primary, high school and university. He didn't go to Cambridge until he was 24. His nationality is New Zealander. British doesn't apply here. If a family is originally from the UK and does not have any Maori or Pacific Island heritage they are NZ European.
152. Kilted kiwi. You forgot this one.... New Zealand’s Johnny Kirkpatrick wins World Shearing Championships title 2017.Test matches (proper Cricket).England have played NZ over 100 times, losing only 9. Pretty comprehensive I would say.As I said before Rutherford is British, actually Scottish.
@134. Posted by knows best . "Known for rugby, lamb and little else" ? Look at I.C.C. rankings please. Tests N.Z. rank 4, England 5. O.D.I's N.Z. rank 4, England 3. T 20 N.Z. rank 2, England 7 ! Have a look at netball, hockey, softball and who holds the Americas Cup! Maybe you've heard of Ernest Rutherford, Edmund Hillary, Peter Jackson, Bruce McLaren, John Britten, etc., etc.
148. Tonyb.Thank you for proving my point.NZ claim Rutherford as their own when he had a Scottish father, was educated at Cambridge and what is widely known to be British. Try again!I actually did NZ an injustice as it is also known as the place Lord of the Rings was filmed. Rugby Union being the notable exception, NZ are pants at sport. Fact.
