So much for the close finish predicted by this website. No sense in sending Livingstone out to bat with so many runs required.
Lancashire will be relegated, deservedly, as the batting of too many has been shambolic this season.
@45. You'll actually find that Yorkshire have only signed 2 overseas players this season - Pujara and Williamson. Compare that, for example, with 4 for the likes of Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Somerset, Surrey and Worcestershire.
Irrespective of Poysden, Livingstone injury & Buttler dodgy decision (?) Lancs were always likely to get beaten.Sadly, another all to predictable collapse by Lancs.
@35. Posted by Michael Green onSurprised Joe Root doesn't get a mention also-----When he is available, which is rare, Yorkshire only pick him for his bowling :)
@41 Agree with your comment regarding Poysdengate ..... and extend it to all the useless short term signings Yorkshire have made in last few seasons. It is time to restrict the signing of overseas players to maximum of 2 per season. Let the clubs decide whether that is for a couple of matches or for full season.
Regarding the various comments on the Buttler dismissal. It's amazing the information that people glean from a dodgy video stream. Depending on your viewpoint he either clearly hit it, or did not. Don't know why the umpire stood there ... had no view at all. Should have been sat in the stand watching the poor quality video. Thought Brezzy got a rough decision 2nd innings. No way was that out :)
A few strange comments re. the Buttler dismissal. There is film of it on both the Yorkshire web site and the Lancashire one. It is clear that there is a big deviation and also clear that the ball is nowhere near his pads when the deviation occurs. Looks like a correct and easy decision for the umpire.
@40 How much spin do you think Root can get on the ball? Of course Buttler touched it, otherwise there's no way on earth the ball gets to the fielder. There seems to be a lot of Lancashire sour grapes on this HYS - half the Yorks batsmen don't look out according to the video, (Ballance certainly wasn't) but them's the breaks. Quit blaming the umpires and injuries and have a look at your players.
The signing of Poysden for one match is a disgrace. Allowing this means any county can just choose from a group of players who don't have a match for their county at the time. It is time to change the law on substitutes. You can have a full substitute for concussion, so why not for physical injuries (as in Livingstone's case)? I can understand no substitutes for 'strains', though.
