Just a word here to the Aus Lads the other day shouting top of their lungs about them beating India. I have only one statement to make to them - SSSSHHHHHH!!! Jai Ho.
If anyone is interested:ESPNCricInfo: "This is spectacular death bowling right now from India. Doesn't matter who is batting, these balls are virtually impossible to negotiate for boundaries."Time for those to swallow the spit who ridiculed these bowlers earlier this week? And, AWESOME, Dom Bess! Just got the 2nd!
Just catching up on play and we have declared ... Shane as think this may have been a chance for Broad to get some confidence with the bat considering the state of the pitch. He could have done one of his old cameo roles slashing the ball all over.Never mind sure he be ok bowling.Good knock by Pope too to give home more confidence. Now it's time to be ruthless in the field JR No Mercy.
THIS MUST BE THE FINAL NAIL IN THE JOS BUTTLER COFFIN!!!!!!
Spin.We have 500 on the board, surround the batsman. Bess MUST have a silly mid off. Also Root should be aware he has 3 spinners, himself , Denly & Bess. Don't let the batsman settle, rotate the spinners.Mark Wood needs a short leg too....
@ 378 short answer... NO
Can anyone fathom the logic behind Curran sharing the new ball?Agreed he batted well and was pumped up. That's enough to over-ride the age-old "Test" wisdom of starting the bowling with your best and fastest bowlers? Who do we have a captain for? An 18 year old?
374Assuming he’s any sort of cricket fan or that he doesn’t in fact have herpes is not something I’m gonna do. That’s a terrible shot from Malan but we’ll take it obviously
This is what is wrong with Root the Capt - school boy errors. Spinner loops it into the wind. Quick (Wood) with the wind behind him. Oh and hurry up because we will lose the light.
Well playe Pope - you look the part. Remind me a bit of Ian Bell. Stokes played well too, and between them they have put us in a good position, ably backed backed up by Curran and Wood. I am looking forward to seeing how the bowlers perform, and particularly how Root rotates them. The SA bowlers bowled good line and length, I hope England's can match them.
112. Posted by herpes free since 2003 'They will need the bleedin Pope himself if they want to win. England are Tinpot Minnows'. Perhaps 112 wishes to amend his comment from yesterday? Or should we all assume he is a T20 follower who knows nothing of test cricket?
That's a tremendous show from Pope, Sam and Mark, while Stokes consolidates his position in the "Test Batting Top 10" further. The way SAf are going at >4RPO, are we headed to a draw? Is the pitch meant for breaking the bowlers' backs? But I am convinced that the scare IND gave SAF last time (when they made ultra-spicy pitches) has forced them to go docile!
@ 366 you could see it in Wood. He sprinted off the pitch after his innings to get his bowling clogs on he couldn't wait, he thought he was taking the NB. By now he will be in the standing in the deep fuming and frustrated. Joe will be on after though to tell us about going though the process and taking the positives blah, blah. Curran bowling like a drain here too!
Lackadaisical start here from England. Root as skipper still struggles to organise & motivate the side to create pressure. Imagine if this was Australia hunting us after whacking 500!!
