Geraint Thomas says it would be "amazing" if new road world champion Mark Cavendish were to join him at Team Sky next year.
Welshman Thomas was part of the eight-man Great Britain team that helped , the first win by a British man in the race since Tom Simpson in 1965.
Cavendish is expected to announce soon that he will join Team Sky, already home to six of his GB team-mates.
Thomas, Olympic champion in team pursuit in 2008, also says he is likely to miss next year's Tour de France in order to focus 100% on winning defending that title in the velodrome at London 2012.
