Shanaze Reade and Liam Phillips completed a Great Britain double with time-trial victories on the opening day of the BMX World Cup in Manchester.
The Olympic finalists qualified fastest in their respective fields for Saturday's final rounds.
Reade was top in 32.351 seconds, beating Alise Post of the United States, while Phillips won in 29.357 secs, ahead of Canada's Tory Nyhaug.
Saturday's action kicks off with the motocross discipline.
"It was good just to win," said Reade. "It's my home track so I know it pretty well.
"I'm really pleased to piece it all together and do a solid lap to finish with.
"If I can perform that lap every time in the motos, through the semi and the final, hopefully I'll be on top of that podium tomorrow."
Phillips added: "I've never won a time-trial - I've come close a couple of times and thought I was going to win at the Worlds but it was not to be. It's mega."
