Froome climbs into yellow jersey

Britain's Chris Froome says the victory in stage eight of the Tour de France that gave him the leader's yellow jersey has put him and his team in "a fantastic position".

The 2012 runner-up, who said Team Sky had targeted the yellow jersey on this stage, praises team-mates Richie Porte and Peter Kennaugh for the work that delivered him "in perfect fashion" to the foot of the final climb.

Porte's runner-up spot on Saturday's stage also leaves him second in the general classification, just 51 seconds behind his team leader.
