Lizzie Armitstead says she missed out on victory in the women's road race at the Road World Championships because it was "too easy".
Armitstead finished seventh as France's Pauline Ferrand Prevot won gold in a thrilling sprint finish in Ponferrada, northern Spain, ahead of Lisa Brennauer of Germany and Sweden's Emma Johansson.
Defending champion Marianne Vos also failed to make the podium, the first time since 2006 the Dutch cyclist has finished outside the first two.
