Martyn Irvine hopes to end his injury-plagued season on a high at the World Track Championships in Paris.

Irvine admits a series of setbacks left him feeling like throwing his bike in a hedge.

His long-term aim is to qualify for the Rio Olympics in 2016 and improve on his 13th place in London 2012.

The competition runs from 18-22 February with coverage on BBC television and BBC 5 live sports extra.
