Bjarne Riis has been suspended as manager of Tinkoff-Saxo, the cycling team of two-time Tour de France winner Alberto Contador.
No reason has been given, but the team stated it was not because of "lack of results nor for financial issues".
Russian Oleg Tinkov, who bought the team from Riis in 2013, had suggested changes had to be made to team management because of poor displays.
The team have had only one World Tour win since the start of the year.
