Liam Phillips retains time trial at UCI BMX Supercross World Cup

Great Britain's Liam Phillips has retained his time trial crown at the BMX World Cup in Manchester.

The 26-year-old, who is bidding to win the overall crown on Sunday, won the event in 28.713 seconds - just ahead of Connor Fields from the United States.

British riders Kyle Evans, Tre Whyte, Quillan Isidore, Alise Post and Charlotte Green will also compete in Sunday's finals after qualifying.

The top 64 men and 32 women race in the event at the National Cycling Centre.
