Two-time Giro d'Italia winner Ivan Basso is to return to racing after being given the all-clear from testicular cancer first detected at this year's Tour de France.
The 37-year-old Italian was diagnosed following a crash on the race's fifth stage and then had treatment in Milan.
"The dark period that started at Le Tour is over," his team Tinkoff-Saxo posted on Twitter.
Basso will make his comeback at the Saitama Criterium in Japan in October.
