Michael van Gerwen beat fellow Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld 11-6 to win his first Masters title in Milton Keynes.
Van Gerwen, 25, missed a shot at double 12 for a nine-dart finish in the final, having also gone close to a perfect leg in his semi-final against Adrian Lewis.
The first eight legs of the final were shared before Van Gerwen surged clear.
"My averages have been brilliant. When I needed to, I managed to lift my game - the only thing missing was a nine-darter," said Van Gerwen.
"This has been an amazing tournament. It's the first time we've played in Milton Keynes and the fans were great. This tournament is growing and I'm delighted to have won it for the first time."
Van Barneveld, who had defeated world champion Gary Anderson in the last four, starts the defence of his Premier League crown in Leeds on Thursday.
