Dave Chisnall secured a Premier League play-off place with victory in Birmingham, while Raymond van Barneveld boosted his chances of a top-four spot.
St Helens-born Chisnall, 34, defeated Adrian Lewis 7-4 to stay second behind Michael van Gerwen, who beat Phil Taylor 7-4 with an average of 112.91.
Defending champion Van Barneveld won both of his matches to jump above Scotland's Gary Anderson into third.
The Dutchman beat Anderson and Lewis to move within one win of qualification.
Van Barneveld, who has now claimed five successive victories in this season's Premier League, and reigning PDC world champion Anderson are three points ahead of Taylor in fifth.
Taylor, the 16-times world champion, is in danger of missing out on the play-offs for the first time since the competition was introduced in 2005 and will be eliminated if he loses to Anderson in Newcastle on 7 May.
Stephen Bunting and James Wade are unable to finish in the top four after they shared a 6-6 draw.
The remaining eight players have two group matches left to play, with the top four in the table qualifying for the play-offs in London on 21 May.
