Forward Amy Conroy is expecting her Great Britain wheelchair basketball side to set up a European Championships final showdown against Germany.

The British women will start their campaign in Israel when they face Spain on Saturday.

"We are pretty confident, the aim is a gold," the 18-year-old from Norwich told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"I'm guessing we're going to have a final match with Germany, that will be a great game."

Britain have the edge over Germany this year, securing a victory in the final of the Paralympic World Cup in May.

"We also just had a warm-up tournament in Germany, where we played the Germans and the French, and we beat the Germans, which is really exciting," Conroy added.

"We were definitely the underdogs but the team's improved so much.

"You can tell when watching the Germans they are really experienced, their two forwards really know what they're doing.

"But when you watch the improvement in our team, everyone's improved so much.

"And with a year to go until the Paralympics in London, so much can happen."
