BBC Sport - Rio 2016: Paralympics a "catalyst for change" for Brazil's disabled

Paralympics a "catalyst for change"

Rio 2016 will mark the first-ever Paralympic Games to be held in South America and it is hoped the event will be a "catalyst for change" in terms of attitudes towards people with disabilities in Brazil.

To mark one year to go until the Rio Paralympics BBC Sport's Nick Hope travelled to Brazil to look at some of the challenges facing disabled people in the country - including poor infrastructure and support - and assess the progress being made.

Brazil's Paralympic champions Alan Fonteles Oliveira and Andre Brasil both believe the public will be inspired by what they witness at next year's Games.
