Britain's David Smith will not compete at the 2016 Rio Paralympics because he needs further surgery on a life-threatening spinal tumour.
The 37-year-old Scot won rowing gold in the mixed coxed four at London 2012 and was aiming to be part of the Para-cycling team this summer.
Smith has had three rounds of surgery on the tumour, including two in 2010, and was hoping to put the operation off until after this summer's Games.
