Llanelli to face Manchester United at Parc y Scarlets

Parc y Scarlets has staged two Welsh international football matches

Tickets have gone on sale for Llanelli's prestigious pre season friendly with Manchester United at Parc y Scarlets in August.

Andy Legg's side will face the Red Devils' reserve team on Monday, 8 August as they prepare for the new season.

Llanelli are hoping to attract a bumper crowd for the game against the three-times European champions.

"This is just going to be a fantastic fixture for the club," said Legg.

"It's great that Manchester United have agreed to help us out with this fixture and support clubs like ours as we move forward.

"The chance to see Manchester United and some of its bright new talent down here is something that supporters young and old will be looking forward to this summer," said Legg.

Parc y Scarlets staged Llanelli's Europa League first round qualifying tie against Motherwell in July 2009.

The ground has also staged two Wales senior internationals, Under 21 qualifiers and two Welsh Cup finals.
