Glens keeper Elliott Morris fired up for Linfield semi

Glentoran keeper Elliott Morris claims the east Belfast side is in good shape going into the Irish Cup semi-final against Linfield at Windsor Park.

"We've trained hard three times this week and we are all fired up for Saturday," said Morris.

"I'm just happy we're hitting the right sort of form going into the big game and Linfield can expect a tough match."

Meanwhile, Glens striker Matty Burrows has been named the NI Writers' Player of the Month for March.

Linfield will be without Damien Curran for the Windsor showdown after the defender injured an ankle in the victory over Crusaders last Friday night.

"Saturday's game is like all Big Two games - it's a one off," Blues boss David Jeffrey told the club website.

"It's a semi-final so it's all about what can happen on the day.

"We are desperate to get to another Irish Cup final and no doubt Glentoran will be equally as desperate.

"When you add into the mix the rivalry between the clubs, it makes for what will be a very competitive game.

"The players have worked very hard in training this week. They have shown great application and they're certainly looking forward to the occasion."
