Tranmere Rovers earned an important win against fellow League One strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge.
Enoch Showunmi saw his first effort ruled offside early on but the striker opened Rovers' account moments later, heading in Aaron Cresswell's cross.
They doubled their lead before the break when Joss Labadie's free-kick was poked in by Ian Goodison.
The Daggers improved but home keeper Tony Warner kept out chances from Darren Currie and Jon Nurse.
Tranmere Rovers manager Les Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside:
"It was all about the result and the performance was irrelevant to be quite honest. But it was good to get a decent performance as well as the result.
"Dagenham didn't give up, to be fair to them for the full 90 minutes. They didn't stop even when they were under the cosh in the first half.
"One thing we do well is put quality balls into the box. We haven't been scoring enough from them, but Ian Goodison has attacked two in the last two games and scored two goals."
