Derby manager Nigel Clough believes the Rams are within touching distance of securing their Championship status.

The Rams beat Leeds 2-1 on Tuesday and are now 11 points clear of the relegation zone with five games to go.

Clough told BBC Radio Derby: "We are nearly there, funny things happen in football, freakish things at times. We don't want to be on the end of those.

"But just another point would mean the other teams have got to win four out of the five."

Derby's next action is on Monday night as they travel to Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers.

"We want to get as many points as we can between now and the end of the season, including going to QPR and being positive," added Clough.
