St Mirren boss says squad playing for new contracts

Danny Lennon says his St Mirren squad are fighting for their livelihoods, despite them having all-but preserved their Scottish Premier League status.
Lennon was speaking after his side lost narrowly 2-1 to Rangers.
"There's pressure on every single one of them as they're playing for their future," Lennon told BBC Radio Scotland after the defeat at Ibrox.
"The players who are consistent until the end of the season will make it easy for me to offer new contracts."
St Mirren are second-bottom of the Scottish Premier League table, 12 points clear of Hamilton, with five games left to play.
After another battling performance at Ibrox, Lennon found time also to praise his team.
"It was poor second goal to lose from our point of view, but it was a big, big performance from us again," said Lennon, whose side lost 1-0 at Celtic Park last weekend.
"We're starting to see more consistency from us.
"I thought we were brave enough to take the ball in a positive manner.
"At 1-0 and 2-1 you're always in it and you could hear the frustration from the home crowd, and we had a real go for it.
"I'm certainly proud of the players. They're believing in themselves more and more.
"If we conitnue to do that in our five remaining games we'll give ourselves the chance to finish as high as we possibly can."
