Derry City 1-1 St Pat's Athletic
Derry City dropped to third place in the Premier League thanks to a draw with St Patrick's Athletic at the Brandywell on Friday night.
Daniel North and Daryl Kavanagh had chances for St Pat's in the first half while Kevin Deery and Eamon Zayed were denied by goalkeeper Gary Rogers.
James McClean fired home from eight yards in the 70th minute after his initial header had been blocked.
North levelled with an 80th-minute penalty after Kavanagh had been fouled.
Derry started the brighter and McClean caused problems for the visiting defence.
North brought a good save from Doherty and then Kavanagh and North were denied by last-ditch Derry defending.
An Eddie McCallion cross from the right found the head of Deery but Rogers was equal to the task and the St Pat's keeper denied Zayed from point blank range in added time at the end of the first half.
The Candystripes enjoyed the better of the second half and deservedly took the lead through McClean.
Gareth McGlynn and McCallion linked up well on the right and McCallion provided the cross for McClean.
After his header was blocked the ball fell invitingly for the striker to shoot home.
North equalised with his penalty 10 minutes later and was then denied by Doherty.
Rogers made a late save from McGlynn at the other end.
