Dundee United boss Peter Houston expressed delight after his side's 4-2 win over Kilmarnock.

Goals from Scott Severin, Craig Conway and a David Goodwillie double saw United home.

"Our win was thoroughly merited. We got sloppy in the last 20 minutes or so, but up to then I thought we had a great performance," he said.

"The players bounced back after the defeat by Rangers. We were 4-0 up after half-time. I'll take that every week."

Severin, whose header was his first goal for United this season, said he was delighted with the manner of victory.

"We played particularly well in the first half," he told BBC Scotland. "We knew at half-time they'd come out at us, but we went at them again and got two quick goals in the second half.

"Once we went 4-0 up, we maybe got a bit sloppy, but I'm delighted to get the win and the performance as well."

Severin praised the contributions of Craig Conway, David Goodwillie and Danny Swanson in the current United squad.

"There are a lot of young guys here who have big futures," he added.
