Netherlands defender Jeffrey Bruma says he would welcome a deal to return to Leicester at the start of next season.

The 19-year-old has been on loan at the Foxes from Chelsea since February and scored his first senior goals in Monday's 4-2 home win against Watford.

Bruma, whose loan expires at the end of the season, told BBC Radio Leicester: "I'd be glad if I could return here so I will wait for Chelsea's answer.

"The manager would like me to stay and I'm very pleased with that."

Bruma has forged a regular place in the starting line-up at Leicester, making nine appearances since his move to the Walkers Stadium.

He continued: "I will go back to Chelsea at the end of the season and they're going to give me feedback on how I've done.

"If I can go on loan next season then I will see what options I have and what's best for me personally."

Bruma was delighted to open his account in the victory over the Hornets with a brace which included a 35-yard second-half strike.

"I'll never forget my first goal and my time at Leicester so this day is one for the history books," he continued. "They are my first goals so it's a good day for me.

"The second goal was a screamer - I couldn't believe it and I am very happy with it."

Bruma, usually a central defender, was employed in a more advanced midfield position in Monday's game.

"I can play centre half or the midfield roles," he explained. "I was more sitting - trying to be the link between the back four and the front.

"I've been brought up playing both positions so at my age it's not a problem where I play."

And Bruma hopes to end the season on a high despite Sven Goran Eriksson's side looking as though they are likely to miss out on a Championship play-off spot.

"The fans are paying the money [to come and watch us]," he commented. "We want them to see that we work hard and want to win.

"Everyone is still very positive and will go into next season in a positive mood."

Bruma had featured on 10 occasions for Premier League champions Chelsea and signed a contract in September which keeps him at Stamford Bridge until 2014.
