Cowdenbeath 1-0 Stirling Albion

Scottish Football League

Steven Crawford handed Cowdenbeath a win over Stirling but results elsewhere mean their hopes of avoiding a relegation play-off are all but over.

The visitors had the better chances, Scott Buist's header too weak to beat goalkeeper Ludovic Roy.

Thomas O'Brien got on the end of Scott Linton's corner as the hosts threatened but Paul McHale cleared.

Lee Makel set up Crawford to fire the winner but Beath now look certain to finish second bottom in Division One.

Jimmy Nicholl's side are three points behind Ross County with one round of games to play but Cowdenbeath have a vastly inferior goal difference.
