Oxford United boss Chris Wilder is keen to strengthen his squad in the summer as the U's look to progress in League Two next season.

Oxford sit five points below the play-offs in 11th, having won promotion to League Two at the end of last season.

"We've not done too bad so far but we still have a long way to go," Wilder told BBC Oxford.

"If we can recruit right in the summer and add strength and depth to our team then hopefully we can improve."

Oxford beat Lincoln City 2-1 on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run to five league games, and Wilder says he has been encouraged by his side's recent run of form.

"We've had a decent run and have been fair to ourselves and our supporters because we've had some decent performances and given it a right go, and that's really encouraging for me," he said.

"It's about what's happening now and we need to give the support something to shout about.

"For the season that we've had and the support that we've had, which has been absolutely first class, we needed to win this game for the fans because they've backed us to the hilt," he added.
