Paul Hanlon signs contract extension with Hibs
Hibernian defender Paul Hanlon has signed a two-year contract extension, committing him to the club until 2016.
Hanlon has progressed through the youth ranks at Easter Road and has made 34 first-team appearances this season.
The 21-year-old, who has captained Hibs in recent weeks, is happy to pledge his future to his boyhood heroes.
Hanlon said: "I'm delighted to sign a new deal. I love playing for Hibernian, it is a privilege and something that I will never take for granted."
The former Scotland Under-19 captain hopes next season Hibs can improve on the current disappointing campaign.
"Next season we want to give the fans something to cheer about by improving, with the aim of challenging for a place in Europe," he added.
He also reaffirmed that Easter Road is where he sees his immediate future.
"I've supported the club all my life and been with Hibernian since I was 14, so being given the honour of captaining the team recently has been a massive honour," said the player.
"I've always enjoyed my time with the club, I feel settled here and now I want to help Hibernian achieve something special."
