Mitchell pays tribute to Bournemouth management duo

Lee Bradbury retired from playing to take up the manager's reins

Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell says boss Lee Bradbury and assistant Steve Fletcher have excelled since taking over at the club in January.

He told BBC Radio Solent: "I think it's very difficult for someone in among the team to step away from it and introduce the discipline they want.

"It could be very intimidating I would have thought," Mitchell added.

"But they've managed it very well. Steve's a great asset to Lee, and I believe they'll go places."

The Cherries won promotion from League Two last season under Eddie Howe, who left to manage Burnley in January.

But under their rookie management team of Bradbury, who hung up his boots to take on the role, and veteran striker Fletcher, who continues to play, the Dorset side are now guaranteed a place in the League One play-offs, where Mitchell says they "don't fear anybody".

"Personally I think I'd like us to play Huddersfield, but the boys think Peterborough might be better for us - a bit more open in their play.

"But I don't think we fear anybody and we're looking forward to it."
