Peterborough United midfielder Tommy Rowe says he is ready and willing to ease his side's left-back problems, should he be needed.
Charlie Lee, Tom Kennedy and Scott Griffiths are unavailable for Sunday's play-off semi-final first leg against MK Dons.
But Grant Basey could make a return in time from a knee injury.
"If needs be I'll willingly sit in there," Rowe, 22, told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire
"But hopefully, fingers crossed, we can keep our original shape that we've been successful with."
Kennedy, on loan from Leicester, has been with a knee injury, Lee is trying to shrug off a hamstring problem and Griffiths is ineligible following his loan switch to Chesterfield.
"Obviously we've got a few players who are left-backs who are injured," Rowe added.
"Grant Basey's working hard with the physio but I'm definitely willing to do a job there."
After Saturday's 5-0 win over Dagenham boss Darren Ferguson admitted Rowe, who has played full-back before, would be an option for the role, but added he would like the former Stockport man to remain in his usual role.
"I'd prefer him playing one further forward, it suits him better and it gives far better balance to the team," he said.
