Cardiff boss Dave Jones hopes Craig Bellamy will be fit to face Reading in Tuesday night's Championship play-off semi-final, second leg.

The Wales striker was forced off with a hamstring injury during the first half of the goalless first leg on Friday.

Michael Chopra replaced the Cardiff captain after just 18 minutes at the Madejski Stadium.

"It's a shame he came off but we haven't given up hope that he can play again for us yet," said Jones.

"Craig is a quality player so he would make a big difference for us but we will have to wait and see how he is in the morning.

"He came off straight away but he is an experienced player who knows his body.

"He has missed games during the season and we have players who can replace him if needs be."

Following a scan on Saturday, Cardiff will discover the extent of Bellamy's injury either on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Bellamy, who is on a season-long loan from Manchester City has scored 11 goals for the Bluebirds during the campaign.
