Stephen Gleeson ban lifted for MK Dons play-off

MK Dons celebrate Sam Baldock's goal

MK Dons midfielder Stephen Gleeson has had his red card in the League One play-off semi-final first leg against Peterborough overturned.

The successful appeal to the Football Association means the 22-year-old will be available for the return leg on Thursday, with the Dons leading 3-2.

Gleeson was sent off following a challenge on Posh's Mark Little.

"We all felt the FA would make the correct decision," Dons boss Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"People can make mistakes in all walks of life and a mistake has been made, but it has been rectified, which is great.

"Stephen has been in fantastic form all season and he deserves his chance to help this club get into the final."

Referee Jon Moss gave Gleeson his marching orders when he adjudged the Irishman's 80th-minute challenge to be in the penalty area and denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Grant McCann converted the spot kick to reduce Posh's arrears and set up a tight second leg at London Road.
