Swansea's Liberty Stadium will host its first competitive Wales fixture when Switzerland visit for their Euro 2012 qualifier.

The Friday, 7 October Group G clash will be Wales' first competitive match in Swansea for 23 years since Finland were held 2-2 in October 1988.

The Liberty Stadium has staged three Welsh friendly matches and will host Wales' final home Euro 2012 qualifier.

The kick-off time for Switzerland's Wales visit has yet to be confirmed.

"I am delighted that we are able to bring a championship game to Swansea," said Football Association of Wales chief executive Jonathan Ford.

"And Switzerland will certainly be attractive opponents. They beat Germany in their last game so that just shows you what a good team they are."

Wales have also confirmed they will play Australia for the first time in a friendly on 10 August, with the match to be held at either the Liberty or the Cardiff City Stadium.
