Midfielder Eunan O'Kane says Torquay must not get ahead of themselves as they prepare for the League Two play-off final against Stevenage.

The Gulls beat Shrewsbury 2-0 on aggregate to set up the showpiece clash with Boro at Old Trafford on Saturday.

O'Kane told BBC Devon: "We've surpassed expectations, we've done well and we've just got one more step to go now.

"We know what we want, but we haven't got there yet so hopefully you'll see us celebrating at Old Trafford."

The 20-year-old Ulsterman is in his second season at Torquay, having moved to Plainmoor from Coleraine in January 2010.

In 33 appearances this term, the midfielder has netted seven times for the Gulls - including one in first leg of the semi-final against Shrewsbury - a tally he is keen to increase in Manchester this weekend.

"Everyone knows that I want to be scoring goals and creating them, and that's where I want to be playing and hopefully one day I'll be strong enough physically to do that from the middle of the park," he added.

"But when the gaffer asks me to go in there and do a shift for the team, it's got to be done and if that means putting my body on the line then it's got to be done.

"I haven't been to Old Trafford so it'll be a new experience for me and I look forward to it a lot."
