West Brom are to open talks with Peter Odemwingie over a new contract, the player's agent has confirmed.
The Nigerian, 29, was the the club's top scorer with 15 goals in his first season in the English Premier League.
Odemwingie played a major role in the club staying up as he scored in five successive matches in April and May.
The striker has one year left on his current deal plus the option of another 12 months, but Albion want to award him an improved deal for his efforts.
His agent David Omigie said that he is hoping to hear from the club soon to begin the negotiations.
