Barcelona's Seydou Keita has been left out of Mali's squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Zimbabwe.

The Eagles' French coach Alain Giresse has named a 23-man squad that will train in South Africa ahead of the game in Harare on 5 June.

Keita has been omitted despite helping Barca win the Spanish title and reach the European Champions League final.

The midfielder took a break from international football last year but said in March he was available again.

However Giresse decided not to pick him for their 1-0 win at home over Zimbabwe.

Mali are currently in second place in Group A, one point behind Cape Verde, with both countries having played three games.
