Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has said he is keen to retain Dutch striker Marvin Emnes, despite reported interest from Premier League newcomers Swansea.
Emnes, 23, scored twice in five games for the Swans on loan last season, but was recalled in November and went on to feature regularly for the Teessiders.
"I would like to extend Marvin's contract and keep him here longer term," Mowbray told the club website.
"He gives opposing defenders a lot of problems in this league."
Boro signed Emnes from Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam for a fee of £3.2m in July 2008, and has made 62 appearances for the club, scoring six goals.
