Chris Maguire's move to Derby County edges closer
Aberdeen striker Chris Maguire is expected to complete his move to Derby County in the next 48 hours.
The Dons are awaiting an improved offer of compensation, but both clubs are hopeful of coming to an agreement rather than going to a tribunal.
Maguire is out of contract at Pittodrie, but Aberdeen are due compensation as the player came through the club's youth set-up.
The Scotland cap is believed to have already undergone a medical at Derby.
Aberdeen have already rejected one offer from the Pride Park outfit, and are adamant they will not allow the player to leave cheaply.
A Dons spokesman said on Tuesday: "Our case for appropriate compensation is watertight; the SPL will back us in the matter."
It is understood Aberdeen are looking for around £350,000 to compensate for the loss of Maguire, but Derby have failed to match that figure as yet.
Should the clubs fail to agree on a fee, an independent tribunal appointed by Uefa would decide the final compensation figure, although both clubs are keen to avoid such a scenario.
