FA Trophy winners Darlington have signed utility player Kris Taylor on a one-year deal following his release by Port Vale last month.
The 27-year-old, who lists Walsall and Hereford among his former clubs, operates on the left of defence or in central midfield.
"It's a big signing for us," said Quakers boss Mark Cooper.
"Kris has a great range of passing and is a set-piece specialist, he's certainly a player who will excite."
Cooper continued: "I tried to sign Kris last summer but it didn't work out, so I'm delighted to get him this time and look forward to working with him."
Taylor has made 233 league appearances and scored 18 goals for four clubs.
