Bolton manager Owen Coyle is keen to bring Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge back on loan next season.

The 21-year-old had a successful spell with the Trotters last term, scoring eight goals in 12 Premier League games.

Sturridge is seemingly behind Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka in the Chelsea pecking order and Coyle hopes to take advantage.

He said: "I feel that another period with Bolton would take him on to the next level of his career."

Coyle added: "Just now he is under Drogba, Torres, Malouda, Anelka, Kalou - as outstanding a player as Daniel is.

"Time will tell but we give them the platform, the opportunity and the belief to play in the best league in the world."

Sturridge's Chelsea team-mate Ashley Cole believes the striker will be stopping at Stamford Bridge next season, saying: "I saw Daniel recently and look at what he has done at Bolton.

"I've seen him in training and he's honestly one of the hardest players I've ever had to mark. His movement is unreal.

"Hopefully when he comes back next season he'll see more opportunities and bang goals in for us like he has done for Bolton."
